Round precision grindings
The round precision grinding is performed by mounting the piece on a spindle that rotates slowly in the opposite direction to the grinding wheel, also performing the translation motion (axial feed). The wheel, rotating rapidly, removes the material. The transmission shaft grinding is an example of this type of chip removal machining. The transmission shaft is, among the cylindrical surfaces, the most complex to work for its shape. The manufacturers of transmission shafts need this type of machining also for the bushings and for the shaft collars.
Gauges
The gauge is a measuring instrument of length, suitable for measuring (with millimetric precision of tenth, twentieth, fiftieth and hundredth) the width of an object, the distance between two flat faces in a concavity, the depth of a groove or a bore. It is mainly used in the mechanical engineering and construction to measure the distance between two symmetrically opposite faces.
Dimensional checks
R.P.A. is equipped with an air-conditioned metrology department to test and certify each component complies with the technical specifications requested by the customer. The metrology department is equipped with roundness gauges, roughness gauges, profilometers, optical measuring instruments for external diameter testing, profile projectors, altimeters, dimensional measuring systems, pneumatic and electronic devices of the best brands (Zeiss, Mahr, Mitutoyo).
